On October 28, ExinTx co-founder Gabriel Ocana-Santero wrote that the previous night, an AI agent had performed brain surgery on a mouse model of epilepsy. The goal was to reduce the number of seizures. The agent selected the drug and the area of the brain for the injection.
The agent calculated the coordinates for the procedure based on three scientific papers. It then injected 250 nanoliters of a substance, watching the injection site and for possible bleeding through a camera.
A licensed veterinarian supervised each irreversible step and held a physical switch that could stop the agent.
