Apple unveils next-generation Apple TV 4K with Siri AI

On October 13, 2026, Apple unveiled a new, fourth-generation Apple TV 4K streaming box. The main change concerns the assistant: the device gains Siri AI, a new version of Siri built on the next generation of Apple Intelligence. Answers now fill the whole screen, and while watching you can ask follow-up questions without interrupting the film or series.
Siri AI is described as an assistant that holds a better conversation, understands personal context, has broad knowledge of the world around it, and can perform more actions in system apps. For example, with a connected iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, the assistant can carry out a request such as “play the series that Alinda recommended.”
The box can be controlled without a remote. The Apple TV 4K has three built-in far-field microphones, and advanced echo cancellation separates the voice from background sound so that the “Hey Siri” and “Siri” commands are recognized even during audio playback.
Hardware and remote
Performance is handled by the A19 chip. Apple claims up to 50 percent higher CPU performance and up to double the GPU compared with the previous generation, as well as a new dedicated AV1 decoder for more efficient streaming with lower bandwidth use. The new Siri Remote keeps the familiar design but gains Find My support with Precision Finding and the ability to play a sound, so that it is easier to find.
Home theater and smart home
For the first time, spatial audio can be put together from four HomePod mini 2 speakers or a second-generation HomePod together with Apple TV 4K. The speakers recognize their position in the room and automatically calibrate delays and sound levels to the space. As a home hub, the box controls the smart home: automations, guest mode, and camera notifications are supported, which Apple Intelligence turns into activity descriptions and brief summaries. Notifications from a compatible doorbell are shown directly on the television.
Apple separately emphasizes privacy. Microphone data is processed in Secure Exclaves, isolated environments that are inaccessible to tvOS, apps, the user, and Apple itself. Siri requests are handled on the device or in Private Cloud Compute, where data is not stored and is not accessible to anyone, and HomeKit Secure Video recordings are stored with end-to-end encryption.
Price and availability
Pre-orders for the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K open on October 13 in the US and 29 more countries and regions, and the device will appear in stores on November 13. The price in the US is 299 dollars, or 49.83 dollars a month over six months. Siri AI is available in beta on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation) and later, and at launch works in English in the US, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the UK. In the EU, Siri AI will not initially be available on iOS and iPadOS.
