MaPC Runs Windows Games on Apple Silicon Macs
XORit Editorial · Sources, AI assistance and corrections

MaPC has entered public beta for Macs with Apple Silicon chips. The app brings together Steam, Epic Games and GOG libraries: users choose a game, install it and launch it from MaPC. They sign in to the stores on their own pages, and, according to the developers, login details remain on the Mac.
MaPC uses Wine and automatically configures compatibility components. Many games using DirectX 9, 10 and 11 run through DXVK, using Vulkan and Metal. For DirectX 12, only an experimental extended mode is available: it requires Apple Game Porting Toolkit, which MaPC does not include. The developers also say that Apple’s license terms restrict the use of this toolkit.
Compatibility is not guaranteed for every game. Some games work, others need adjustments, and some do not launch. Games with kernel-level anti-cheat, including Fortnite and Valorant, do not work on macOS; many games with EAC or BattlEye also do not launch. MaPC is in beta, so the developers warn that it may have issues.
The requirements are a Mac with Apple Silicon, starting with M1, macOS 15 or later, and Rosetta 2; the installer offers to install Rosetta. The MaPC page also says that the engine and games require about 30 GB of free space. The app’s main features, including installing and launching games, are free; paid support unlocks additional features, such as save backups and playtime statistics.
