Manager Tests His Company’s Job Filter on His Own Résumé and Is Rejected

According to the manager, he applied under another name for a senior specialist position at his company and was rejected six minutes later. He claimed the team had been looking for a candidate since April, while the HR department said there was a shortage of suitable applicants.

A week later, the manager suggested that the filter may have rejected his résumé because a keyword did not match: the job listing required “React.js”, while his résumé said “React”. He also said that he had written the job description himself.

The Economic Times noted that it could not independently verify the authenticity of the manager’s Reddit post. Therefore, the account of the rejection and its possible cause should be treated as his claims.
